Do documents have to be in a specific format?
Electronic files should be in ASCII, Word or WordPerfect. We are also happy to work from paper transcripts at no additional cost.
How do I send you transcripts?
You can send us transcripts electronically, or in paper form. To send them using our secure file transfer just press the “Send Files” tab on the left hand side of this screen and follow the simple instructions. Sending files is simple – if you can send an email, you can transmit your files to Summary Express.
If you prefer to mail the paper transcript to us, feel free to do that as well. Our mailing address and physical address (for overnight deliveries) are listed in the “Contact Us” tab on the left hand side of this page.
Are my documents secure?
Yes. You and your client’s trust and confidentiality are our top priority. Summary Express uses the secure services of LeapFile for electronic document transmittal.
How will I know you got my files and are working on them?
Once you transmit your files to us you will receive an automatic confirmation that the files have been securely transmitted. Once Summary Express downloads your files to begin your summary you will receive a second email confirming our successful download.
How secure is my client’s private information?
We are legal professionals and understand your needs. In addition to the secure file transmission, all staff at Summary Express adheres to the strictest confidentiality standards. Your cases and your client’s personal information are treated as our own.
Can you use my firm format?
Absolutely! We will be happy to tailor our summary to your format. Or, if you don’t have a specific format, we will be happy to work with you to design one that meets your needs. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you.
How long does it take?
We want to impress you, and will work to get your summary to you as soon as possible. Our normal turnaround is 5 to 7 working days. If you have urgent deadlines and need something sooner please call us. We can handle rush jobs. Of course, because you want a quality product, extremely large jobs may take longer.
How will my summary be sent to me?
Our preferred method of sending your summary is by LeapFile secure file transfer. However, if you would prefer, we can mail a paper copy to you, fax it to you, or send it to you on CD rom. Please let us know what you prefer.
Can I get a copy of my summary on CD?
Yes, just let us know and we will be happy to mail one to you at no extra charge.
What is the ratio of condensed pages to summary?
Our normal summary contains approximately 1 page of summary for every 10 pages of transcript. Very detailed or complex testimony may result in a longer summary.
How much does this cost?
Our price for basic summaries is $1.90 per page of transcript text. We give discounts for large jobs, and long term assignments. There is no extra charge for summaries of experts. See our price page for further details.
When / How do I pay?
When your summary goes for final proofing, we will email you the final bill. You can send us your firm check, or pay by credit card. As soon as we receive payment you summary will be electronically transmitted to you.
Do I need to set up an account?
No, we do not have another User ID and password for you to have to keep track of. Just press the “Send Files” button on the left hand side of this screen to get started.
